Earlier, Bangladesh managed to post a total of 183 for seven. Afif Hossain (39) stitched a 57-run partnership with Mahmudullah after Bangladesh were reeling at 87 for four. Mehidy Hasan Miraz (38) had earlier given Bangladesh a flying start, despite wickets falling at the other end.
Both Sri Lanka and Bangladesh faces defeat as they battled against Afghanistan in their opening clash.
