2023 Indian Premier League : Mumbai Indians Final Squad Update

2023 Indian Premier League - 11icBlog2

Last year, the Mumbai Indians invested heavily in Ishan Kishan and Jofra Archer in an effort to develop a team for the future. They performed similar deeds again this time, spending a staggering Rs. 17.50 crore to get Australian all-rounder Cameron Green. MI eventually acquired the major player after a bidding conflict with Royal Challengers Bangalore and Delhi Capitals.

Green also rose to the position of second-most expensive player in IPL history. He began by registering himself for Rs. 2 crore, but he later broke records. Jhye Richardson was added by MI at a basic cost of INR 1.5 crore in addition to Green. Piyush Chawla, Duan Jansen, Shams Mulani, Nehal Vadhera, and Vishnu Vinod were later recruited to their squad at their base costs.

The five-time champion Mumbai Indians have a history of making good financial decisions during IPL Auctions. They had Rs. 20.55 crores remaining going into the IPL 2023 auctions, and they needed to fill nine slots, including three foreign players. Last season, they did not perform particularly well, and they ended the season at the bottom of the standings.

However, things will be different this time around because the Mumbai Indians performed exceptionally well at the IPL 2023 auctions, which were held on Friday, December 23, in Kochi. They already had well-known figures on their side, like Jasprit Bumrah, Kishan, Suryakumar, and Archer. Additionally, Cameron Green's addition to the list strengthened their team. The next 16th iteration of the lucrative event will undoubtedly be a significant one for Mumbai.
