As many as 405 players were up for bid during the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 mini-auction, which started in Kochi. In November, the Sunrisers Hyderabad made a few noteworthy adjustments to their list of players who were retained and released.
After Kane Williamson's disappointing season in 2017, Sunrisers Hyderabad made the decision to fire their captain, and they went looking for a replacement. The club also entered the mini-auction with INR 42.25 crore, the greatest amount of money of any of the franchises, after releasing a significant portion of their squad.

Ultimately, the Sunrisers acquired Brook for a staggering INR 13.25 Crores. He has surpassed Manish Pandey as the most expensive player for SRH (INR 11 crore in 2018). Shimron Hetmyer was surpassed by him as the most expensive specialist batter ever sold at a small auction (INR 7.75 crore by Delhi Capitals ahead of 2020 season).
After being purchased for INR 8.25 crore, Mayank Agarwal, who was released by Punjab Kings, is also scheduled to wear the Sunrisers uniform this season. Despite challenge from Chennai Super Kings, Punjab Kings, and Royal Challengers Bangalore, the Sunrisers were able to win the Indian opener.
