An amazing performance from the spinners and an impactful cameo from Najibullah Zadran helped Afghanistan to make a victory after winning the match against Bangladesh by 7 wicket and made them to be the 1st team to qualify for the Super 4 stage of 2022 Asia Cup.


The victory was set up by spinners Mujeeb Ur Rahman and Rashid Khan, who picked up three wickets each to reduce Bangladesh to 89 for 6 in the 16th over. Mosaddek Hossain's unbeaten 48 off 31 balls lifted them to 127 for 7 but it was still far from a competitive total.


Bangladesh vs Afghanistan Match Highlights:


Ibrahim Zadran and Najibullah Zadran stitched unbeaten 69 runs off only 33 balls to help Afghanistan to win over Bangladesh by 7 wickets at Sharjah Cricket Stadium, Sharjah on Tuesday.


Afghanistan chased down 128 runs in 18.3 overs to advance to the Super-4 stage. They were tottering at 62 for 3 after 13 overs but the partnership between Ibrahim Zadran and Najibullah Zadran turned the game on its head. Ibrahim Zadran unbeaten 42 off 41 balls.


While Najibullah Zadran hit a blazing 43 not out off 17 balls. Earlier, Mujeeb Ur Rahman and Rashid Khan claimed three wickets each as Afghanistan restricted Bangladesh to 127/7. Mujeeb Ur Rahman set the tone for Afghanistan by striking thrice before Rashid Khan capitalized on it to put Bangladesh in further trouble. Notably, Bangladesh skipper Shakib Al Hasan had won the toss and opted to bat first in the game.
