Big Bash League 2022-23 Match 18

Big Bash League 2022-23 Match 18 by 11ic

The Sydney Sixers and Melbourne Renegades will square off in game 18 of the Big Bash League 2022–23. With only two victories from four games and as many losses, the Sydney Sixers, coached by Moises Henriques, are mired in the bottom half of the standings. Moises Henriques is helping the Sixers, who lost their first two games, get their season back on track with back-to-back victories. They will undoubtedly try to extend their winning streak and win all three games.

The Sixers will be feeling confident going into the game after defeating the Melbourne Stars in their previous meeting. After putting them in, the Sixers were able to limit them to just 150 runs, and thanks to Moises Henriques' half-century, they were able to cross the finish line in the final over. Henriques led his team to victory with 52 points off just 32 shots.

With three victories and one loss thus far, the Melbourne Renegades are currently in third place in the points standings. Having won the first three games of the competition, they got off to a strong start. In the previous contest against the Hobart Hurricanes, they suffered their tournament's first defeat. Just 122 runs in 18 overs were all the Hurricanes could muster thanks to the bowlers' accurate bowling from the outset. They could only manage 114 runs in 19 point two overs, however, as they kept dropping wickets at regular intervals. For both teams, winning this game will be extremely important.

Melbourne Renegades vs Sydney Sixers

Sydney Sixers won by 34 runs

The Renegades never had a chance to catch up, which allowed the Sixers to win with ease. Their initial spell had put Jackson Bird and Ben Dwarshius behind. Finch had trouble with his timing after an early wicket. When Sean Abbott came on, the situation became even more tight, and as a result, the asking price immediately increased. The batters had to go for it and forfeit their wickets as the rate increased.

Dwarshius' four-for-four performance was outstanding, and the Sixers never let up in controlling the match. Renegades required one set batter to bat all the way through, but they failed to do so while setting a very attainable goal. The Renegades have now lost two straight games, while the Sixers have now won three in a row.
