Mayank Agarwal , plays as team captain and one of the main contributors with the bat for Punjab Kings Franchise, in 2022 Tata Indian Premier League and Karnataka Cricket team in a domestic cricket. Agarwal made a international debut for the India Cricket team on December 2018 at Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) against Australia.
In November 2017, he made a 304 not out batting for Karnataka against Maharashtra where he scored his maiden triple century in first class cricket the 50th triple century scored in first class cricket in India . On the same month, Agarwal scored 1,000 runs in first class cricket. In 2017-2018 Ranji trophy, Agarwal was the leading scorer with 1,160 runs.
In January 2018 , Agarwal was bought by Kings XI Punjab in the 2018 auction. He was the leading scorer in 2017-2018 Vijay Hazare Trophy with 723 runs in eight matches. He scored 2141 runs across all formats, the highest total in Indian Domestic season by any bats man . On the same year - June 2018 , he was awarded by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) with Madhavrao Scindia Award for the Highest Run- Scorer in Ranji Trophy.
Agarwal was the leading run scorer for Karnataka with 251 runs in seven match in 2018-2019 Vijay Hazare Trophy. He was named in India B’s squad for 2018- 2019 Deodhar Trophy in October 2018. On the following month Agarwal was named as one of the eight players to watch ahead of 2018-2019 Ranji troph. In October 2019, Agarwal was named in India C’s squad for 2019-2020 Deodhar Trophy.
In September 27 2020, Mayank Agarwal scored his maiden In IPL century for Kings XI Punjab, he scored 106 off 50 balls the match against Rajasthan Royals. he scored a total of 424 runs in 11 matches for King XI Punjab with an average of 38.54 in Indian Premier League 2020.
May 2021, Mayank Agarwal have become the 13th team captain of Punjab Kings, in the absence of the regular captain KL Rahul, who under go appendix . He captained the Punjab Kings against Delhi Capital and he scored 99, making him the third batsman in the Indian Premier League to score 99 not out, and was awarded the Man of the match Award. He became the 12th full time captain of Punjab Kings franchise on February 2022.
