In the second qualifier of the Caribbean Premier League 2022, the Guyana Amazon Warriors took on the Jamaica Tallawahs. A high-scoring game took place at Providence Stadium in Guyana during which the Tallawahs emerged victorious.
Having been asked to bat first, Shamarh Brooks scored an outstanding century to give the Tallawahs 226 for their innings. With 109 off 52 balls, Imad Wasim came up with a stunning cameo of 41 off 15 balls to finish unbeaten on 109. As a response, the Warriors made a valiant attempt but were unable to overcome the huge total. They fell 37 runs short as a result of Keemo Paul's 56 points, but they failed to make a significant contribution from the other batters.
With two wickets each, Imad Wasim and Chris Green helped their side successfully defend the total, setting up a final with the Barbados Royals. Johnson Charles continues to lead CPL 2022's run-scoring charts as the opening batter for Saint Lucia Kings. During nine matches, he has scored 345 runs at an average of 43.13 runs per match. The Kings were knocked out of the competition in the Eliminator as he hit four fifties but failed to lead his side to the final.
As the number two player, Brandon King of the Jamaica Tallawahs holds the top spot. When he competes against the Barbados Royals in the final, he will have the opportunity to finish as the competition's leading run scorer after scoring 339 runs in 11 games. In the same way, Kyle Mayers is the skipper of the Royals. It is likely that both he and King will be eager to step up and contribute to the tournament for one final time. It is important for the southpaw to lead by example in the final, after scoring 337 runs in 11 games.
On the list, Mohammad Amir represents the Jamaica Tallawahs below Holder. As well as 16 wickets, he has played for the Indian national team. In CPL 2022, Amir's teammate Imad Wasim has taken significant strides in the wicket-taking category. With his 16 wickets, he has jumped to the fourth spot, having taken two wickets in their convincing win over the Warriors in the second qualifier.
In a title game, The Jamaican tallawahs downed the Guyana amazon warriors by 37 runs. As a result, the Tallawahs won the game quite one-sidedly. On the other hand, their batter Shamarh Brooks, who scored a brilliant century earlier in the day, did not need to be mentioned. Also contributing to their success were their bowlers, such as Imad Wasim and Chris Green, who both took two wickets each. As far as I am concerned, the Warriors just didn't show up today; home fans will be extremely disappointed when they return. The fact that Shimron Hetmyer's side tried their best against the Tallawahs will give them a sense of accomplishment, but the fact that they gave away 103 runs in the last five overs will discourage them greatly. The only decent pitching performance for them came from Keemo Paul, who reached half a century. It is now time for the Tallawahs to play the Barbados Royals in the Caribbean Premier League final!
