Delhi Capitals will be hoping to win the IPL title this year. Just Mumbai Indians had figured out how to enlist a greater number of wins than them in the league stage. While the defending champions had dominated 9 league games, Delhi had won 8 of their 14 games. The Shreyas Iyer-led side will be a solid competitor for the title once again in IPL 2021. With the likes of Shreyas, Shikhar Dhawan, Prithvi Shaw, Rishabh Pant, Kagiso Rabada and other enormous stars in their positions, Delhi Capitals will be a power to deal with in the fourteenth edition of the competition.
Ahead of the season, Delhi Capitals have divulged their new jersey. The national capital-based franchise delivered the new jersey on Friday (March 19). Notwithstanding a couple of red stripes, the new jersey isn't altogether different than the one the team wore in IPL 2020.
The new jersey has red tiger claws on the sides that 'makes the overall appeal very powerful'. As per the franchise, 'The new Delhi Capitals jersey will keep on being overwhelmed by blue (addressing stability and confidence), and red (representing energy, passion and aggression).
In the mean time, Delhi Capitals have additionally reinforced their team for some new signings during a month ago's IPL auction. Prior to the auction, they had delivered Keemo Paul, Sandeep Lamichhane, Jason Roy, Alex Carey, Mohit Sharma, and Tushar Deshpande. In the auction, they purchased an aggregate of eight players.
Previous Rajasthan Royals skipper Steve Smith was their first purchase before they purchased Umesh Yadav, Ripal Patel, Vishnu Vinod, Lukman Meriwala, M Siddharth, Tom Curran and Sam Billings. IPL 2021 will get under way on April 9 with a battle between Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore. Delhi Capitals, then again, will open their campaign on April 10 against Chennai Super Kings.
