Football veterans and enthusiasts alike are looking forward to the highlights and points table FIFA World Cup 2022. The Most Controversial League of 2022 has started as the 2022 FIFA WORLD CUP takes the 32 nations in Qatar to play a professional association football tournament. This tournament will be played with 8 round-robin group matches followed by a knockout round for the 16 teams.
Even though Qatar became the most controversial host of the World Cup, the 2022 FIFA World Cup has been a source of controversies, especially in the Western World. Still, the tournament is taking place in Qatar from November 20 to December 18, 2022. This is the 1st World Cup Tournament to be held in the Arab World.
The 2022 FIFA World Cup will be held in November and December as opposed to previous editions, which have usually been held in June and July to escape the stifling summer heat in Qatar.
As a result, the World Cup is unusually held in the middle of domestic football league seasons, which typically begin in late July or early August. This includes all of the major European leagues, who were forced to add extra breaks to their domestic schedules to make room for the World Cup. In order to avoid playing group matches the following year, major European championships have arranged their respective competition's group matches to be played before the World Cup.
In July 2020, FIFA announced the tournament schedule.
It was planned for the group stage to start on November 21 with four matches per day. As a result of Qatar's successful lobbying of FIFA to allow their squad to open the tournament, the Qatar vs. Ecuador game was later moved to November 20.
On December 18, 2022, National Day, the championship game will take place at Lusail Iconic Stadium.
