The 2022 award winners across all forms were revealed in Dubai by the International Cricket Council. On the first day, January 23, it started with the T20 team of the year. The following day, the ODI and Test team of the year played. For both men's and women's cricket, the International Cricket Council presents 13 distinct awards.
The ICC awards are divided into categories including ICC Men's ODI Player of the Year, ICC Men's Test Player of the Year, ICC Men's T20I Player of the Year, ICC Men's Emerging Player of the Year, ICC Men's Associate Player of the Year, and ICC Spirit of Cricket Award. The winners are chosen by a voting academy made up of journalists, broadcasters, and retired athletes.
The ICC recognizes women’s cricketers in the female category with accolades such ICC Women's ODI Player of the Year, ICC Women's T20I Player of the Year, ICC Women's Emerging Player of the Year, and ICC Women's Associate Player of the Year.
Along with the individual awards, the ICC also gives out awards for the best team and captain in each game format (Test, ODI and T20I). The ICC also gives out the ICC Umpire of the Year award to honor the year's top official.
The winners are chosen based on their efforts throughout the course of the preceding calendar year, and the awards are often given out during a ceremony at the end of the year. They are regarded as the most prestigious honors in international cricket, and sportsmen all over the world highly appreciate and desire them.
