The Abu Dhabi Knight Riders and MI Emirates will face off in game 26 of the International League T20. Mumbai Indians vs. Kolkata Knight Riders has historically been a significantly mismatched matchup amongst two illustrious organizations in the IPL, with the former having a significant edge. That does not appear to be shaping out any significantly either going into their ILT20 matchup this evening against their sibling teams. Since the Abu Dhabi Knight Riders have been as sluggish as they could have possibly feared, the MI Emirates have been one of the league's better teams. With two league games remaining, they have yet to win, which means they are not only eliminated from contention for a playoff spot.
The worst-case scenario for Sunil Narine and company has. However, now is the perfect time to let loose and have fun without worrying about the repercussions. They might just end up playing spoilers against a team trying to lock up a playoff spot because they have nothing to lose. And a victory for MI Emirates will give them a good chance of finishing in the top two in addition to guaranteeing their place in the next round.
The Knight Riders' batters not simply standing up to be counted has been their biggest concern thus far. Russell, King, and Paul Stirling were blowing colder than hot during the most recent game against the Dubai Capitals, with only Joe Clarke appearing to be in good form. Unless their batters score enough runs, their bowlers can only do so much; however, Narine's adjustments in the previous match were quite puzzling.
Given that they previously defeated the Knights' challenge, MI Emirates enter this match as clear favorites. However, compared to the Knight Riders, who are competing for pride, MI have much more on the line today.
