Futsal is a football-based game, a mini football variation played on a hard court and mainly indoors. The game emphasizes “improvisation , creativity and techniques.” Futsal is an exciting , fast-paced small sided soccer game.


Differences of Futsal and Soccer


Soccer is normally played as an outdoor game on a large fields while Futsal is a type of soccer played indoor on a much smaller court.


When it comes to players, there are 11 players play for soccer game while in Futsal game is played with 5 players.


In soccer, the allowed substitution are three. However , in Futsal game allows 12 substitutions each team.


There re no Time Outs in soccer , while there is 1 time out in Futsal . Halftime in Soccer is 45 minutes while there is 20 minutes in Futsal.


There is no substitution allowed in soccer for a player who is sent off the ground, while on the other hand, there are substitution in futsal for the player who is set off the ground after two minutes of the game.

Futsal Basic Rules

  • 5 versus 5 players , one of which will be the Goalkeeper and each player is expected to take turns.

  • Subs on the fly

  • No offsides

  • Ball must stay below head height other wise free kick and possession will be given to the opposing team.

  • Players must not go to the ground to steel possession

  • No throw-ins from the sidelines, ball should be places on the ground and passed in team mates with foot instead.

  • Free kicks and Corners the other team has to be 5 yards away the ball as minimum.

  • For the Penalty Kick , all players should be behind the ball except for the penalty kicker.
