Twenty20 (T20) is a shortened game format of cricket. It was introduced by England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) on year 2003 for inter-county tournament in professional level.


It is a match in which each two teams have a single innings with restricted to maximum of 20 overs, it is also one of the three current forms of cricket recognized by International Cricket Council (ICC) together with First-class and List A as the highest international or domestic level.


Brief History


Cricketing authorities were looking to boost the game’s popularity with the younger generation in response to crowds and reduced sponsorship. T20 was intended to deliver fast paced and accessible to fans who were put off by the longer version of match.


The first official Twenty20 match were played year 2003 between English counties in Twenty20 Cup. It’s first season in England was successful and the first Twenty20 match attracted 27, 509 crowd and made a highest attendance for any county cricket game other than a one-day final.


Twenty20 match format is a form of limited over cricket or one day cricket that involve each two teams with single innings.


In 2011 , the ICC released the first Twenty20 International Rankings for the men’s game base on the same system as the Test series and ODI rankings.


Twenty20 International is a form of cricket that being played between two of the international member of International Cricket Council and at the present 76 nations have played including all Test playing nation , until 2018 the ICC did not maintain a separate Twenty20 ranking for the women’s game instead it produce performances over all three forms of the game into one overall ranking for women’s team.


On the other hand, in October the International Cricket Council announced that the women’s ranking would be split up between ODIs and T20Is and released both table.
