ONE BIG HEADACHE FOR EACH FRANCHISE BEFORE IPL 2021

The eight franchises have begun their preparations for the upcoming 14th edition of IPL 2021 this year. This edition, the league will be played across six venues behind closed doors, and it will be starting in April 9 and ended on May 30. Meanwhile, big names like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and David Warner at yet to join their corresponding teams. For now they are busy with their other cricket assignments.


Mumbai Indians as the defending champions will enter the competition and CSK captain MS Dhoni want to grab the title before he left the team. Before the tournament begun, franchises have a big problem facing with regards to their teams.


In this article, let us identify those problems that franchises are facing now.


ROYAL CHALLENGERS BANGALORE

Will the expensive signings Glenn Maxwell and Kyle Jamieson deliver?

RCB is one of the most active franchise at the auctions and they acquired two expensive buys of the season. This team were one of the favourites who will lift the trophy last year edition wherein the team showed all the qualities to be champions. The franchise will now hope that their two expensive signings can deliver during the whole season.


MUMBAI INDIANS

Quinton de Kock - Will he be mentally fit for the upcoming IPL season?

One of the best things happened to Mumbai Indians ahead of IPL 2021 is the comeback of Quinton de Kock. He had taken a break from cricket due to mental health but he is now back to play for the Titans in Cricket SA 4-Day Series match. However, the squad are taking extra careful about him and they are worried if he is ready to take on this pressure.


SUNRISERS HYDERABAD

Battling injury of David Warner and Kane Williamson

These two are the main source of strength of SRH team. They played an important role in the 2016 winning campaign. However, the team are concerned about their availability in the early stage of the tournament. Both of them are battling injuries and their availability in the IPL confirmation still awaited.


RAJASTHAN ROYALS

Inconsistency of Sanju Samson

If there is one thing that Rajasthan squad need to work on, it is how to help Samson dealing with his inconsistency. He has been constant in every IPL season which was an evident during the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and Vijay Hazare Trophy. With the added responsibility of leading the team now, his form will be a big concern for the RR squad.


PUNJAB KINGS

Captain KL Rahul struggling with form

He was the best batsman in IPL 2020 season and considered the Orange Cap winner. However, he was battling with form in the ongoing T20 series between India and England. The franchise team management will be worried to see their captain in such a bad form.


DELHI CAPITALS

Plenty of Options

While other teams are worrying about their players performance or battling with injuries, DC will have a problem on choosing of who should play in their starting eleven. However , they are happy that the team are only facing such problem throughout the season.


KOLKATA KNIGHT RIDERS

Sunil Narine’s form and Andre Russell’s fitness

It will be once again a matter of concern of KKR team for this two players who are struggling both form and fitness for the upcoming IPL tournament. Russel has been struggling both fitness and form while Narine’s questionable bowling action and inconsistency.


CHENNAI SUPER KINGS

Insufficient of match practice for the CSK greats

The three-time champions concerning the lack of match practice of this three star of the team- MS Dhoni, Ravindra Jadeja and Suresh Raina. Dhoni has not yet played cricket since IPL 2020, Jadeja suffered thumb injury during the Australia tour and Raina has battling with form. The CSK team are worried about for the upcoming tournament.
