ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2023 Final Match

Updated: Mar 1, 2023

Australia and South Africa will face off in the ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2023 final. Think about the previous few weeks. You might have predicted that Australia would participate in the summit conflict then. Few people, however, might well have expected that South Africa would stand in their way of destiny. In addition to the fact that South Africa is going through a shift, they, unfortunately, missed their home leg against Sri Lanka. Add to that the controversy of omitting Dane van Niekerk because she failed a fitness test, the compassionate leave Marizanne Kapp was accorded, and the general uncertainty shrouding their side, and nothing suggested that they would still be here, preparing to go toe-to-toe against arguably the most commanding cricketing outfit to have ever taken the field.

The opportunity is one that South Africa has earned, though. They rebounded from their defeat to Sri Lanka, and their perseverance, talent, and character have led them to this point in an outstanding manner. Due to the added pressure from hosting the tournament, it would have been simple to falter. They have, however, accepted this contest. With Tazmin Brits and Laura Wolvaardt finding their form, that turnaround has started at the top of the order. While not as strong as in previous seasons, the rest of the batting lineup has also made a positive contribution. They also have two fearful ball strikers in Chloe Tryon and Kapp, who can build off the foundation that Brits and Wolvaardt have been setting.

They have a chance against this solid Australian team, thanks to their bowling attack. The best fast-bowling trio in the women's game is Shabnim Ismail and Kapp. And Ayabonga Khaka. Their spinners have also performed admirably, and they might contain the Aussies if the Newlands surface is favorable to them. But it's simpler to say than to do. Despite not playing at their best, facing India, Australia still managed to prevail. It has not been Alyssa Healy's most effortless performance. However, Meg Lanning and Beth Mooney appeared to be in impeccable condition. Someone with Ellyse Perry's pedigree cannot be spelled off, particularly on the big stage. Ashleigh Gardner and Tahlia McGrath have also risen to the occasion when necessary. Jess Jonassen brings more variety in terms of bowling. With Gardner and Georgia Wareham also able to bowl in various phases, Darcie Brown continues to take crucial wickets.

South Africa will start this game as the underdogs, regardless of their exceptional comeback. It does not matter, though, as they demonstrated against England. The deciding factor will be who can handle pressure better when they and Australia enter that force match. Australia has the advantage of that count because they have visited this country numerous times. South Africa, on the other hand, is free of any baggage from the past and can appreciate the occasion. It was a well-deserved finale to the Women's T20 World Cup, a match that has gone from initial ups and downs to a climax unlike any other in women's cricket in past times.

South African Women vs. Australia Women

Australia Women won by 19 runs

With no sign of slowing down, the overpowering Australian force keeps going. The Australian team enjoys a perfect day. It is still possible to find out that despite the best efforts of one's team, they need to improve due to the superior skills of their opposition. Six World Championships in T20. White-ball cricket has won 7 more World Cups, bringing the total to 13. Their second three-peat in the previous 13 years.

Again acting independently, they sent Ash Gardner in at number three today by staying one step ahead of the competition. She will be the overwhelming beloved to win Player of the Competition. Before Beth Mooney led them to a respectable total of 156, her innings gave the Australian innings momentum. Ultimately, it worked facing the hosts and was sufficient.

With the openers unable to generate any motivation to set the stage up front, South Africa lost the game in the Powerplay. When Kapp was dismissed, Brits could not duplicate her pride from the semifinals, and the innings suffered. After a wear out that gave Australia the advantage, Luus could not make a difference with a captain's bang.

Excellent fighting was displayed by Wolvaardt and Tryon, particularly the latter's use of a change-up at the end of each inning. The two maintained the crowd's enthusiasm and upheld their conviction. With the vital wicket of Wolvaardt, Megan Schutt had a say in different T20 World Cup finals. Tryon quickly followed, eliminating any chance of doubt about the outcome.

As is the instance for every final, the two teams experienced different sentiments. As is the case in most finals, Australia wins once more. Even though the celebrations are quiet compared to when they won it in their court, they still value the outcome highly. What a strong unit they make. What champions they are.
