During the powerplay, the Thunder were 17-4 and struggled with their bats, but Tahlia Wilson and Anika Learoyd were able to steady the ship to a certain degree, but after leaving the game, they couldn't get back on track, and ended up scoring just two runs. Scorchers had a fifty-run bowling partnership that set the game up for victory.
