Adelaide Strikers Women vs Hobart Hurricanes Women

For the first time in seven years, the Hobart Hurricanes Women beat the Adelaide Strikers Women! With the bat, they weren't at their best, but with the ball, they were on top right away. The Strikers' batsmen were never really able to get going early on, as they choked off the flow of runs with key wickets early on in the game. In the end, the Strikers were not able to accelerate at key moments due to the partnership between Tahila McGrath and Laura Wolvaardt. It was Nicola Carey and Molly Strano who picked up two wickets each for the Hurricanes. As a matter of fact, Carey's performance during the power surge was particularly impressive, as she was able to dismiss Tahila McGrath, the captain of the Strikers in an unprecedented manner. Following up her brilliant 50 with the bat, Heather Graham gave away just 23 runs in four overs. As a result, the Striker's fell short by a margin of 23 runs as 152 was too big a total for them to contend with.

The Hobart Hurricanes Women finally ended their seven-year drought against the Adelaide Strikers Women on a great day for them. The Strikers will have to reassess themselves as they approach the most crucial stage of the tournament.
